The Moth: MainStage Social Promo

When I was approached by The Moth about working with them to develop social media promo for their main stage events, I did not understand the magnitude of their reach. A quick Google search will serve you information about their impact and importance. They have created a mission to perfect the art of storytelling and they are doing just that.

Similar to the beginning of most projects, we dove head first into exploring a visual direction which led to my favorite type of design - a Frankenstein design - a mixing of design elements from each creative direction created.

Creating the visual direction

The problem we were faced with was to create social media promo that was bold but was not too text heavy. Our solution was to create a carousel that could hold all of the pertinent information for the event without being too heavy all around.

Four styles were created - each introducing the existing font and color palette for The Moth, textural elements, and images of storytellers on stage.

By combining elements from each layout option, we came up with a clean yet bold design that gets across all desired information while staying within brand guidelines

To accompany the designs, we created templates for individual speakers so they can share the event on their own social media platforms and to their audience
